Infospherics is the practice of researching, developing, and assessing tools, techniques and technologies for the transformation and exploitation of information. An Infosphere consists of a common shared information space and processes that embody and implement a systems approach to effective management and dissemination of information. This site supports the collaboration of researchers participating in the development, convergence, and adoption of a common collection of interfaces that applications will use when interacting with an infosphere. These interfaces are referred to as the Common Application Programming Interface (CAPI). The goal of establishing these interfaces is to allow for application portability among a number of disparate infospheres regardless of the underlying implementation. This infospherics group is comprised of Government, commercial, and academic stakeholders working together toachieve this goal.
